Sin is deadly. Grace is not cheap. Jesus is both God’s message and God’s messenger. On the cross, all the sin in the world was placed upon the Lamb of God who takes it all away. Our sin is not a trifling thing – Jesus was killed for it. But on the cross, we see also God’s willingness to extend mercy and grace. Jesus’ first words on the cross demonstrate God’s willingness to forgive our sins. And they call us to be people who continue in this path.
